R.I.P. Don Cornelius, Soul Train Host

Don Cornelius, the creator and long-time host ofSoul Train, was found dead Wednesday morning in an apparent suicide.

The Los Angeles Times reports that, according to law enforcement sources, police arrived at Cornelius’ California home at around 4 a.m. local time and found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were no signs of foul play.

Cornelius was 75. He hosted Soul Train for more than two decades, from its debut in 1971 until 1993. The show remained on the air until 2006.
